MIMETAS launches OrganoServices: validated organ-on-a-chip data, delivered as a service

LEIDEN (NL), 14, September 2026 - MIMETAS, a leader in organ-on-a-chip technology for human-relevant drug development, today announced the launch of OrganoServices, its standardized contract research offering that delivers validated organ-on-a-chip study data as a service. OrganoServices will officially launch at EUROTOX 2026 (13-16 September 2026, Vienna, Austria), where attendees will be able to get a preview of the new offering and discuss study design directly with MIMETAS scientists. At launch, OrganoServices includes standardized studies for gastrointestinal toxicity and drug-induced vascular injury (DIVI), with additional applications in development.
OrganoServices is designed for drug discovery and safety teams that want predictive, physiologically relevant preclinical data without having to establish, validate and operate organ-on-a-chip technology internally. With OrganoServices, customers provide the compound; MIMETAS runs the experiments on the OrganoPlate® platform using validated OrganoReady® organ models, and delivers a structured results report within one week after assay completion.
“Many drug development teams see the potential of organ-on-a-chip technology, but implementing and validating a new assay internally takes time”, said Henriette Lanz, VP Biology at MIMETAS. "With OrganoServices, we are making validated human-relevant models directly accessible as a standardized study: customers send us their compounds, and we deliver the data they need to make better-informed decisions.”
A streamlined path to human-relevant safety insights
As safety expectations rise and teams seek earlier, more translatable decision-making, OrganoServices offers a practical route to generate high-quality data while keeping internal resources focused on pipeline priorities. Unlike bespoke contract research projects, OrganoServices provides standardized, execution-ready studies based on validated OrganoReady® models and predefined workflows.
Key benefits of OrganoServices include:
- Human-relevant 3D tissue models designed to provide insight beyond conventional in vitro assays
- Validated organ-on-a-chip models built on OrganoReady® with demonstrated predictive performance for clinical translatability
- Fast turnaround, with results delivered within approximately one week after assay completion
- Robust, reproducible protocols performed by experienced scientists
- No investment in instruments or training required to access organ-on-a-chip technology
- Exclusive ownership of study data and IP by the customer
Initial applications: GI tox and DIVI evaluation
At launch, OrganoServices is positioned to support programs where human-relevant biology and mechanistic insight are critical, including:
- Gastrointestinal (GI) toxicity assessment
- Drug-induced vascular injury (DIVI) evaluation
MIMETAS is also expanding the OrganoServices portfolio, with additional applications under development to meet evolving needs across drug discovery and safety assessment.
How OrganoServices works
OrganoServices is designed to be simple and execution-ready:
- Ship compounds to MIMETAS laboratories along with study requirements
- MIMETAS scientists run standardized assays using validated OrganoReady models on the OrganoPlate platform
- Receive a structured report typically within approximately one week after assay completion
Meet the team and preview OrganoServices at EUROTOX 2026
MIMETAS will introduce OrganoServices at EUROTOX 2026, held under the theme Toxicology Without Borders, bringing together scientists from academia, industry, and regulatory bodies.
Attendees are invited to connect with the MIMETAS team in Vienna to preview OrganoServices, explore fit-for-purpose study options, and discuss how organ-on-a-chip data can complement existing safety workflows.
