MIMETAS is run by a highly motivated team, including over 15 PhDs. We are a true bio-tech company, combining strong biological expertise with engineering and microtechnology. The company is headed by Jos Joore and Paul Vulto, who are both founders and CEO.
Jos Joore - CEO and co-founder
Jos Joore is a biotech entrepreneur with over 18 years of executive level bio-business experience and 8 years in biosciences. As co-managing director and co-founder of MIMETAS, Jos closed deals with most top-10 pharma companies, secured a series A investment round and enabled mass production & global marketing of OrganoPlates. Previously, he has held managerial positions within biotech companies Pepscan, Skyline Diagnostics, Kreatech and Westburg. Jos hold a masters degree in Biology, a PhD in Developmental Biology and a cum laude masters degree in Business Marketing.
Paul Vulto - CEO and co-founder
As co-managing director and co-founder of MIMETAS, Paul closed deals with most top-10 pharma companies, secured a series A investment round and enabled mass production & global marketing of OrganoPlates. Prior to founding MIMETAS, Paul worked for the high-tech company Silicon Biosystems in Bologna, the Institute for Microsystems Engineering (IMTEK) at the University of Freiburg and the Leiden Academic Centre for Drug Research, Leiden University. Paul holds a cum laude masters degree in Biomedical Engineering and a cum laude PhD degree in Microsystems Engineering.
Bas Trietsch - CTO and co-founder
Bas Trietsch is the CTO and co-founder of MIMETAS. He is co-inventor of the OrganoPlate, optimized it towards a mass manufacturable product and enabled establishment of Mimetas’ production facility. He developed the initial tissue models on the OrganoPlate and continues to support assay development in the OrganoPlate. As CTO he currently drives the continued product development of the OrganoPlate and its peripheral equipment. Bas holds a masters degree and PhD in biopharmaceutical sciences from Leiden University and co-authored over 30 peer reviewed publications and patents.
